Superior, Wis. — The Crown men were in the second half of a doubleheader Saturday night, facing the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets as they tried to keep momentum after their big win against the College of St. Scholastica on Friday. Unfortunately, they did not have the same second half dominance in this game, getting outscored 27-46 to overrule their first half lead.
Junior
Austin VanDerHeyden led Crown in scoring as he was just shy of a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds. He also added two blocks (making six for the weekend). This was the third straight game VanDerHeyden had 22 or more points. Freshman
Timothy Wendel had once again filled up the stat sheet with 17 points. He has been in double figures 12 times in his first 13 collegiate games, averaging 18.6 points per game this season. Sophomore
Josh Volness also added s reasonable scoring margin with 16 points in the match with four made threes.
The Crown men are at home on Tuesday facing Wisconsin-based Maranatha Baptist at 7:30 pm.
