St. Bonifacius, Minn. – Crown's volleyball team's home opener was spoiled facing conference opponent the University of Wisconsin-Superior in a non-conference game. Crown fell to UW-Superior, 0-3.

Freshman Christine Anderson (New Prague/New Prague) led the Crown team with eight kills, and junior Katie Hinkle (Dows, Iowa/Clarion-Goldfield) and sophomore Kaitlin Ruiter (Cottage Grove/Park) added three blocks each. Hinkle also had six kills, second most on the team. Junior Kelsey Roschen (Anoka/Anoka) added 22 assists, two aces, and six digs. 

Sophomore Emily VerWay (Inver Grove Heights/Simley) led UW-Superior with an impressive 22 assists and five aces. Senior teammate Alexis Landherr (Cambridge/Cambridge-Isanti) added 11 kills helping UW-Superior get the win.

Crown's volleyball team's season continues with a game at North Central on Friday, 7pm.
