Waconia, Minn. – The Crown baseball team unleashed their bats in their home-opener at Waconia Lions Field, defeating North Central 13-3 and 13-0, both by run rule after seven innings.  Crown's pitching and defense was solid in both outings, but the story of the day was the offensive outburst that saw Crown score a baker's dozen in both contests.
Game one starter
Gideon Dunn earned his first collegiate win with six strong innings and the Crown offense generated 16 hits, including five for extra bases.
Matthew Tate continued his torrid spring with three hits, including a double and a triple, with two runs and three RBI in game one.
Parker Lippold went 2-3 with two runs and two RBI out of the leadoff spot and
Hunter Foss also collected three hits.
Game two featured the same offensive output from the Storm, while
Josh Flanders shut down the Rams over seven fabulous innings.  The senior right-hander allowed just a single hit, with a hit batter, while striking out seven and facing one batter over the minimum.
Tate and
Travis Walker each collected two hits, while Lippold dealt the biggest blow with a three run homer off the light pole in left center.
The two wins improve Crown's record to 6-6 on the season and more importantly, get the Storm off to a 2-0 start in UMAC play.
