St. Bonifacius, Minn. - Crown College roared out to a hot start versus the Bethany College Vikings on Friday night hoping to avenge an earlier season loss. Crown shot 48.6% from the floor in the first half as they built a 42-34 lead as they headed to the locker room. However, the third quarter would be the undoing of that lead as Crown was held to six points in the quarter as Bethany erased the Crown lead and took a 49-48 lead of their own into the fourth quarter. Crown's offensive woes continued in the fourth quarter as they shot only 20% from the floor in the second half as the Vikings took a victory by a final score of 70-59.
For the game, Crown shot 35.4% from the floor as the Vikings finished at 49.1%. Crown was also hurt by their 17 turnovers that were converted into 19 points by Bethany. Both teams rebounded the ball about equally, and Bethany had a definite free throw advantage as Crown was whistled for 24 fouls on the night.
Jessica Klaustermeier led Crown with 14 points, five rebounds, and three steals.
Andrea Besa played one of her best games of the season with 11 points, five steals, and four assists.
Hannah Malone finshed the night with nine points, all off of three pointers.
