Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Furious Rally Falls Short in OT

St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The Crown women's team was seeking to play a complete game after a poor offensive third quarter led to their demise on Friday night.  Unfortunately, Crown experienced another drought offensively in the second quarter on Saturday against Martin Luther only scoring three points in the quarter to find themselves down 30-20 at the end of the first half.  With 5:32 left in the third quarter, Crown would find themselves down 20 to the Knights and looking for answers.  The girls rallied and stepped up, outscoring the Knights 18-5 in the fourth quarter to tie the Knights 50-50 and force overtime.

That was where Crown ran out of gas as the Knights hit their free throws and Crown did not as they fell by a final score of 68-58 marring a very nice comeback by the young Storm.

Crown shot 36.7% for the game, 29.4% from three, and only 50% from the free throw line.  Martin Luther shot 35.4%, 21.1% from three, and hit 75% of their free throws.  The Knights also had 14 second chance points off of 14 offensive rebounds.

Crown had four players reach double figures led by Desiree Davis with 14 points and four assists.  Jessica Klaustermeier had 13 points, while Hannah Malone had 12 points and 8 rebounds and Andrea Besa finished with 10 points.

Crown finished the season 4-21 improving on last year's record.  A full season recap will be posted later this week.
