St. Bonifacius, Minn. - Finding themselves down several times after a poor start on Friday night, the Crown men's basketball team had to dig deep in order to make the game competitive against Bethany Lutheran. The Vikings came out firing in the first half building a seventeen point lead at one point. Crown would close the half strong though narrowing the lead to six with three
Seth Moan free throws on a foul at the buzzer. Crown would finish the comeback taking and losing the lead multiple times in the second half. Crown would find themselves down by 11 with 7:11 left in the second half, but would storm back to narrow the lead to 3 at 93-90 with 1:14 to go. Crown could not finish the upset though as Bethany hit big shots down the stretch to win 98-90.
The Vikings shot 63.2% in the game from the floor as Crown was unable to find answers inside for the Vikings 60 points in the paint. Crown shot 45.2% for the game and hit 12 threes for the game but could not find the defensive stops to secure the win.
Austin VanDerHeyden played a huge game with 33 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.
James Brown had a huge 30 points and five steals. Moan had 14 points.
