Storm Put Away Knights in Final Game

St. Bonifacius, Minn. - In their final game of the season, Crown needed their role players to step up in a big way in the absence of Josh Volness who was out with an ankle injury.  They got just that from players like Aiden Hayes and Adam Lechelt while getting the usual strong performances from James Brown and Austin VanDerHeyden.  The Storm clicked on all cylinders as they put up 90 points for the second straight night, but this time that 90 points resulted in a 90-82 win.

Crown built only a two point lead at halftime even though they hit on 51.7% of their attempts in the first half and hit nine threes.  Martin Luther kept things close with some great dribble drive style offense as the Storm needed to lock up the defense.  Luckily for Crown, they held the Knights to 40% shooting in the second half while keeping up the strong offensive game to put the Knights away.

Crown shot 49.2% for the game with 32 points in the paint and 13 threes for the game.  Crown also won the rebounding battle 42-36.

Brown topped 30 points for the second night in a row as he had 31 points hitting 5-7 treys on the night.  VanDerHeyden posted a huge night with 20 points and 16 rebounds.  Tom Messner also found his stroke hitting 5-7 threes for 17 points.  Seth Moan also chipped in 14 points on the night.  Hayes and Lechelt combined for eight points and six rebounds in 33 minutes.

Crown finished the season 5-20 improving on last season's record while having no seniors on the roster.  A full season recap will be posted later this week.
