Hancock, Mich. - Crown College was seeking a season sweep of the Finlandia Lions heading into Friday night's game. The Lions had revenge on their mind however as they would jump out to a large lead on the Storm leading by 22-11 after the first quarter and 41-26 at half. At one point, the lead would swell to seventeen, but Crown would find a way to get back into the game as the shots started to fall. Crown would finally tie the game at 58 in the fourth quarter with 3:11 to go. With the game tied at 63 with 1:06 to go, both teams traded some defensive stops before
Desiree Davis would come up with the steal and ensuing layup with 6 seconds left for the exciting 65-63 win for the Storm.
Crown shot 41.7% for the game while holding Finlandia to 33.8% shooting and 27.3% in the second half. The Storm also outrebounded the Lions 48 to 34 with
Madison Stricklin leading the way with nine boards.
Davis led the Storm with 21 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Both
Hannah Malone and
Jessica Klaustermeier would chip in 11 points and 13 boards between the two of them.
Miranda Brueggeman would come off the bench to hit three treys for nine points to aid the team effort.
