St. Paul, Minn. — Crown's women's basketball season started on Tuesday when Crown fell to the MIAC's Macalester 34-61. Crown has a very different team than last year with seven freshmen getting playing time this early in the season.
Crown's leading scorer was sophomore guard
Hannah Malone (West Salem, Wis./Coulee Christian), who had eight points and also had four rebounds. Senior
Nicole Kucza (Hermantown, Minn./University of Wisconsin-Superior) had two blocks and six rebounds (three of them offensive). Freshman
Ava Szczyrbak (Moose Lake, Minn./Moose Lake) had six points in only ten minutes of action.
The Crown women have their first home game on November 22nd against Augsburg, 7 pm.
