St. Bonifacius, Minn. – Crown's football team struggled to find an offensive rhythm and couldn't find the end zone on Saturday afternoon., falling to Eureka College 3-17.
Crown's defense started out strong and went into halftime tied, only allowing a field goal. Unfortunately, as Crown's offense struggled to move the ball, Eureka dominated time of possession in the second half, and quarterback Drew Barth through for two touchdowns in the third quarter.
Crown had several opportunities to score points, but costly penalties including an offside call on Eureka's two-yard line prevented them from scoring in the second half.
Senior Elliott Wiens (Windom, Minn./Windom) led the defense with 14 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for loss. Sophomore
Luke Edlund (Crookston, Minn./Crookston) also had a strong performance with 2.5 tackles for loss.
Crown next plays on Saturday against MacMurray in Jacksonville, Illinois.
