St. Bonifacius, Minn. - Crown College took on the Northland College Lumberjills on Friday night in another UMAC contest. The game was an extremely choppy affair with very little flow to it with 47 combined fouls and 40 turnovers. Crown dug themselves a 14 point deficit through three quarters, but was able to cut the lead to five points with 4:46 remaining. Unfortunately, that would be as close as the Storm would get as they fell 67-59 to the Jills.
Crown actually made more field goals (26) than Northland (19), but the free throw disparity was the difference. The Lumberjills went 25-34 from the free throw line while the Storm went 5-11 for the game. Crown also gave up 15 offensive rebounds leading to 11 Northland points. Crown was able to find their offense a little bit shooting 44% from the field for the game.
Crown had three players reach double figures led by
Desiree Davis with 17 points and 7 rebounds.
Hannah Malone and
Jessica Klaustermeier chipped in with 12 and 10 points respectively while each had five rebounds.
Crown returns to action Saturday night at home versus Finlandia in a nonconference game.
