St. Bonifacius, Minn. - Coming off of a difficult loss to Northland College, Crown was looking to right the ship against the Lions from Finlandia University in Michigan. Crown found themselves down at the half by only 2 points, and took the lead in the second half. Leading by 10 with 4:10 to go, Crown was primed to secure the win. However, the Lions hit three threes in the final four minutes while Crown could not find a bucket. The Lions closed the game on a 14-2 run to win the game 84-82.
Crown played well, limiting their turnovers and rebounding well. They shot 47.1% for the game as well hitting 12 of 30 threes. Finlandia shot outrageously good from beyond the arc hitting 13 of 23 threes which proved to be the difference.
Crown had three players reach double figures led by
Austin VanDerHeyden with 23 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
James Brown had 13 points while
Seth Moan had 12 points.
Josh Volness and
Tom Messner rounded out the scoring with nine a piece.
