St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown College women's team welcomed the North Central Rams to St. Bonifacius on Friday night seeking to avenge a 60-46 loss to the North Central Rams back on December 12
th. In that game, Crown had one of its worst offensive performances of the season only managing 46 points with more turnovers than field goals.
Crown dug themselves a hole in the first half down 33-24 as they committed too many turnovers to be productive on offense. The Storm were resilient though, outscoring the Rams 17-6 in the third quarter to grab a 41-39 lead to set the stage for an exciting fourth quarter. Crown held on as the Rams challenged even with some missed free throws in the final minute to win 58-55.
Crown shot 40.8% for the game and outrebounded the Rams 48-27. Crown did commit 21 turnovers leading to 23 points for the Rams, but Crown converted 16 Rams turnovers into 24 points of their own.
Crown was led by
Desiree Davis who poured in 19 points with nine rebounds and five steals.
Kayla Carter also contributed 10 points off the bench.
Jessica Klaustermeier tied Davis with nine rebounds to go along with her five points.
