Crown Suffers Close Loss to Morris

St. Bonifacius, Minn. - Crown welcomed the University of Minnesota Morris Cougars to town hoping for a little revenge on Saturday afternoon.  Crown lost in overtime to the Cougars back on December 5th, and this game once again came down to the final seconds.  After falling behind 41-35 in the first half, Crown and Morris would exchange the lead twice and be tied seven times throughout the second half.  Down eight with 1;24 to go, Crown got an and one layup from Austin VanDerHeyden to cut the lead to five.  Seth Moan would drill a three on the ensuing possession to cut the lead to two as Crown once again stopped the Cougars and got the ball back.  With sixteen seconds to play, Crown got a decent look at the basket but did not get the roll as they fell 83-81 at the final horn.

Crown made 16 of 43 attempted threes for 37.2% in their best shooting performance from beyond the arc this season.  Crown's biggest deficiency was allowing 44 points in the paint and too many layups.

All five starters reached double figures for the Storm, led by Josh Volness with 19 points and seven rebounds.  VanDerHeyden finished with 18 points and seven rebounds.  James Brown and Moan finished with 13 a piece, while Tom Messner chipped in 12 (4-7 from three).
