Crown Takes All 3 From Rams

Cologne, Minn. – Crown College baseball got back into their winning ways with a timely visit from North Central University.  Crown would hit five home runs over the three game series taking game one 10-0, game two 12-6, and game three 16-2.

Game one featured a three hit gem by Brandon Hudson who struck out eight batters and walked zero.  Harry Ballantyne keyed the offense going two for three from the plate including a game winning two run homerun over the right field wall to implement the ten run rule in the eighth inning.  He also had four RBIs on the game.

Game two was another easy victory for the Storm despite committing seven errors.  Crown's offense once again was on point as they hit five doubles and two homeruns.  Ballantyne was a perfect three for three on the day with another homerun while David Cruz went three for four with a homerun, a double, and four RBIs.  Josh Flanders picked up the win in relief of Trent Krekelberg who left in the third inning after being struck by a linedrive.

Game three saw the Storm jump out to a 6-0 lead after the first inning and never look back.  David Sherwood went two for four with two homeruns (tied a school record) including a grand slam to give him a school record seven RBIs on the day.  Jonathan Matity had it going early and often from the mound striking out ten Rams over 6.1 innings before Ryan Denison finished the game.
