Box Score 2 St. Bonifacius, Minn. – Over the weekend, Crown College travelled to northern Wisconsin and Minnesota to take on Northland College and the College of St. Scholastica for two more UMAC games. This season has not been an easy one for the Storm who made it all the way to the UMAC Championship last year, and this weekend was not any easier. Although Crown played well in both games, they lost to Northland 74-64 on Friday night and lost to Scholastica 67-61 on Saturday.
NC – Crown dug themselves an 18 point deficit in the first half by allowing 51 points in the first half to the Lumberjacks. The Jacks shot 9-14 from beyond the arc in a ridiculous shooting effort that played a large factor in the final result. Crown committed 20 turnovers as well leading to 22 points for the Jacks. Leading Crown on the night was
Austin VanDerHeyden with 16 points and seven boards.
Trey Peace contributed 10 points and eight boards off the bench.
CSS – This game was a back and forth affair featuring 12 ties and 13 lead changes throughout. Tied at 47 with 6:04 to go, Scholastica used a 13-4 run to go ahead 60-51 with 2:41 left. In the end, Scholastica made their free throws down the stretch to seal the game to stifle Crown's rally.
James Brown led Crown with 29 points and eight rebounds while VanDerHeyden had 12 points and eight rebounds as well. Crown was outscored 42-22 in the paint as the Saints shot 47.1% from the field.
