St. Bonifacius, Minn. – Crown College welcomed the University of Minnesota Morris to town on a snowy Tuesday night for a UMAC conference game. The conference leading Cougars proved to be every bit as tough as they appeared as they built a 19 point halftime lead over the Storm. Crown was able to outscore the Cougars 51-44 in the second half, but winded up losing by a final score of 88-76.
Crown was down only five points at 24-19 before the Cougars closed out the first half on a 20-6 run. The lead reached to as many as 30 before the Storm rallied to cut the lead to 13 points with 2 minutes to go. Unfortunately, that would be too little, too late for the Storm.
Desiree Davis led Crown with 26 points, four assists, and three steals on a stellar shooting night.
Jessica Klaustermeier had 18 points as
Leah Breakfield and
Fiona DeMario also reached double figures with 10 points apiece.
