Box Score 2 St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Crown College women's basketball team wrapped up their 2014-2015 campaign playing their final two UMAC games on the road. Crown travelled to North Central and Northwestern as they saw their season end on two tough losses. Crown lost to the Rams 60-55 on Friday night and lost to the Eagles 71-56 on Saturday.
NCU – Crown played an abysmal first half only shooting a little over 15% from the field in the first half to find themselves down 29-18 before turning it around in the second half. Crown shot close to 52% in the second half but was unable to overcome their first half woes. In the game, Crown went zero for twelve from beyond the arc.
Desiree Davis led the team with 24 points, eight rebounds, and five steals.
Jessica Klaustermeier chipped in 10 points while
Madison Stricklin also pulled down eight boards to tie Davis for the team high.
UNW – Crown played a phenomenal first half against the conference leading Eagles finding themselves up 30-28 at the break behind Klaustermeier's 10 first half points. Unfortunately, the Eagles were able to tighten up defensively on Crown holding them to 26 second half points to garner the win. Crown outscored Northwestern by 20-2 in second chance points, but struggled again from beyond the arc shooting 3-16.
Davis led three players in double figures with 14 points and five steals.
Leah Breakfield had 13 points and 10 rebounds in a stellar performance while Klaustermeier chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds of her own.
Andrea Besa also notched five steals and had two of the three treys for Crown.
