Box Score Morris, Minn. - In their first contest of the 2015-2016 UMAC, Crown College travelled to Morris, Minnesota to take on the Cougars. Crown was hindered by a slow start shooting only 20% in the first half en route to a 41-22 deficit. Even with a strong third quarter that saw Crown down only 53-42, the Storm lost by a final score of 75-58.
Crown was similar to the Cougars in most statistical categories and even had less turnovers than the Cougars. Crown could not overcome shooting a full 20% less from the field than Morris. The Storm finished at 28.8% getting up 12 more shots than Morris, but could not put it through the basket.
Desiree Davis had 14 points and eight rebounds, but also had eight turnovers and shot only 2-14 from the floor.
Hannah Malone finished with 10 points going 4-6 from the floor while
Sam Mauer and
Kayla Carter both contributed nine points a piece.
