Box Score St. Paul, Minn. - Crown took to the road for another UMAC contest against the Northwestern Eagles on Friday night. As has been the case this season, the Storm had one bad quarter that was difficult to overcome. Down 17-10 after the first quarter, Crown was outscored 20-5 in the second quarter leading to a 37-15 halftime deficit. Crown would chip into the lead in the third, but lost by a final score of 76-51.
Crown did not shoot the ball well finishing at a chilly 28.6% rate. Crown did shoot free throws well though finishing at 15-20 and 75%. Crown also collected 16 offensive rebounds as they battled on the glass well. Both teams had 23 turnovers, but the Eagles converted their turnovers into 27 points to the Storm's 14.
Kayla Carter led the Storm with 11 points and six rebounds.
Miranda Brueggeman and
Leah Breakfield both contributed eight points as Brueggeman hit two threes and Breakfield had four steals.
Crown plays their next game on Saturday night against North Central.
