St. Bonifacius, Minn. - Crown College played another nonconference game before UMAC play opens up Saturday against Minnesota Morris. The Hamline Pipers visited Crown in a sloppy game that featured 48 fouls, 54 free throws, and 33 turnovers. Hamline used a first quarter burst and some timely free throws to keep Crown at bay in the second half to win 83-55.
Tied at 8 with 3:18 to go in the first, the Pipers closed the quarter on a 13-1 run to start the rout. Crown would narrow the lead a couple of times but could never overcome the lead they spotted Hamline. Crown shot 41.2% for the game and limited the offensive rebounds given up but still turned the ball over 21 times.
Jessica Klaustermeier led the Storm with 20 points and six rebounds.
Desiree Davis contributed 14 points, eight rebounds, and five assists of her own.
Crown's next game is Saturday, December 5th against Minnesota Morris in Morris, Minnesota.
