St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The Crown College men's basketball team tipped off their season on Monday night against the Carleton College Knights in an early non-conference matchup. Crown was unable to match offensive firepower with Carleton on this night as Carleton came out with a 94-67 win.
Carleton opened the game hittting 7-11 three pointers in the first half to open up a large lead and finished hitting 9-16 three pointers. Crown shot only 7-25 from three and was held to 45.6% shooting. Crown was also outrebounded 39-23 by Carleton and was outscored 31-8 in bench points.
Crown was led by
Austin VanDerHeyden with 18 points shooting 8-12 from the field.
Seth Moan and
James Brown followed with 16 and 14 points respectively.
Crown's next game will be played at Macalester College in Minneapolis on Friday, November 20th at 7 p.m.
