St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The Crown College Women welcomed two conference opponents to the Wild Athletic Center over the weekend as the Saints of St. Scholastica and the Lumberjills of Northland College both traveled to St. Bonifacius, Minnesota. The Storm played both games extremely competitively as they have vastly improved over the course of the season so far. On Friday night, the Storm came up on the short end of a 61-49 score although the game was in single digits multiple times in the second half. On Saturday night, Crown cruised to a 26-8 lead in the first ten minutes as they ended up winning 65-49.
CSS -Â This story of this game lay in the inablity of Crown to make baskets as they shot only 27.8% from the field. Crown did hold their turnovers down and forced 25 Saints turnovers, but they were unable to convert those extra possessions into any points.
Desiree Davis led Crown with 15 points and nine rebounds while
Madison Stricklin contributed eight points and five rebounds of her own off the bench.
NC- Saturday night saw an extremely balanced effort by Crown as three players reached double figures and the victory was never in doubt. Crown shot the ball the best they had all season making 44.6% from the field.
Jessica Klaustermeier had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead the way followed by Davis with 11 points and
Andrea Besa with 10. Stricklin once again played well off the bench with eight points on 4-5 shooting and nine rebounds.
