Two Games, One Day: Crown Volleyball Battles Tough UMAC Competition

St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The day you meet up with the toughest team in your conference is always a tough one, but the Crown College volleyball team took that notion a step further when they battled the top TWO teams in the UMAC on Saturday.  In the morning, Crown traveled to Northwestern for the second game of the conference schedule, then returned home to host Minnesota Morris at 7 p.m.  The Storm dropped both matches 3-0.

The morning showdown with the Eagles showed the class of the conference's number one team as Crown was unable to eclipse 15 points in any of the three sets.  Cari Miller led the Eagles with 14 kills on only 19 attempts.  Kirby Beers led Crown with four kills.

The evening matchup with Minnesota Morris didn't go much better for the Storm as the Cougars steamrolled their way to a 3-0 victory.  Crown was only able to register seven kills over three sets, led again by Beers with three.  Morris held Crown to just three assists and a -.135 hitting percentage.

Crown will now host five consecutive home matches over the next two weeks, including four critical UMAC contests.
