Lincoln, Neb. - The Crown College Storm travelled to Nebraska this weekend for continued non-conference play against Nebraska Wesleyan University and Concordia Moorhead at the Snyder Classic. Both games were tough losses for the Storm as they are still struggling to find their identity and gel with so many young players. Crown would lose 105-70 on Friday against Nebraska Wesleyan and 82-48 against Concorida Moorhead on Saturday.
Nebraska Wesleyan - Playing 17 players and shooting 48 threes, NWU played their version of "The System" popularized by Grinnell College. Crown would turn the ball over 42 times to the high pressure system and give up 32 offensive rebounds although they did collect 20 of their own. The lone bright spots for Crown came in the play of
James Brown who scored 30 points on 10-16 shooting while grabbing eight boards as well. He did commit eight turnovers.
Austin VanDerHeyden also notched a double double with 14 points and 13 rebounds with three blocks to go along with it.
Concordia Moorhead - Crown found themselves down 19-0 before scoring a bucket at the 14:28 mark and never recovered to make this game close against the Cobbers.
Chuckie Adams had his season high with 17 points and three assists as
James Brown notched double figures with 12 points. Crown was outrebounded 50-27 and was held to 25.9% shooting from the field in this game.
For the second straight weekend, Brown was reconginzed for his excellent play, garnering All-Tournament Team honors.
