Box Score 2 Waverly, Iowa - Crown travelled down to Waverly, Iowa for the 3rd year in a row to participate in the annual Buzz Levick Tip-Off Tournament where they played the University of Wisconsin Superior as well as the College of St. Scholastica. Unfortunately for the young Storm squad, they fell in an up and down contest to Superior 93-82 and lost by a large margin to Scholastica 72-44.
UW - Superior - This game was a ticky tacky contest in which 58 fouls were called and 72 free throws were shot. Crown led by two at the half and built as much as a nine point lead in the second half before relinquishing the lead at 11:11 left in the second half. They would never lead again and lost 93-82. Crown's free throw shooting was once again suspect as they went 15-30 from the line. Crown had four players reach double figures with
James Brown (21 points),
Austin VanDerHeyden (18 points, 9 rebounds),
Chad Anenson (14 points), and
Chuckie Adams (11 points).
St. Scholastica - Crown found themselves down early at 10-0 before they scored any points and 34-18 at half. Crown had more turnovers than made baskets at the half and was shooting a chilly 26% from the field. Crown had 24 turnovers on the day. Brown led again with 12 points and 11 rebounds for a nice double double as
Jordan Whitcomb had a nice showing with 10 points and four rebounds.
Crown returns to action on Tuesday, November 25th against Hamline.
