Minneapolis, Minn. - The Crown College Women's Basketball team continued their brutal non-conference schedule by travelling to MIAC member Augsburg College this past Thursday night. Crown has already played MIAC member Gustavus and Macalester with games against St. Mary's, St. Kate's, Hamline, and Carleton left on the schedule. The Auggies outplayed Crown in every statistic category this night cruising to a 71-31 victory.
Crown found themselves down 36-16 at the end of the first half as they committed 19 turnovers and shot only 5-18 from the field. By comparison, the Auggies shot around 57% from the field in the first half and 54% for the game. Crown shot a paltry 22.5% from the field for the game and only 18% in the second half. One positive for Crown was their improvement from the free throw line going 12-16.
Desiree Davis reached double figures with 10 points shooting four of eight from the field while
Leah Breakfield had six rebounds to lead in that category.
Crown will play at home for the first time this Saturday against St. Mary's with tipoff at 3:00 p.m.
