St. Bonifacius, Minn. - On Saturday, the Crown women played their first home game of the season after playing four games on the road. So far, Crown has played an NCAA Division II school in Winona State, and two teams from the MIAC.
This game would make things no easier as St. Mary's came to St. Bonifacius with a preseason ranking of #23 in the country. Crown started extremely slow in the first half finding themselves down early and often as the Cardinals used their experience to beat Crown 73-38.
Crown was down by as many as 24 in the first half, but found a way to hang around for the majority of the second half before this one got out of hand. Crown was better in limiting themselves to 21 turnovers, but St. Mary's was better only committing six turnovers on the day.
Desiree Davis led the team in scoring with 10 and rebounds with nine, but also committed six turnovers.
Crown will play their next three games at home including on Monday against St. Catherine's University at 7:30 p.m.
