Kim Hoehne

Kim has been coaching basketball and track and field for 27 years. She was an assistant basketball coach at Minnetonka for five years before moving on to coach at Bethel University as an assistant basketball coach for five years. She was also an assistant track and field coach at Bethel University in 1998.

In addition to coaching at Crown, Hoehne coaches track at Minnetonka specializing in the horizontal jumps. She was the 2011 Section 6AA assistant coach of the year and the 2014-2015 state assistant coach of the year.  She has had many athletes compete and place in the state meet in both events.

Kim graduated from Bethel University in 1995, where she earned All-MIAC honors three seasons as a forward in women's basketball. She graduated as Bethel's career leader in rebounding and was fourth on Bethel's all-time scoring list with 1,487 points.  Hoehne was named as a two-time honorable mention Kodak All-American player and was also named to the MIAC all defensive team. Kim helped lead her Bethel team to the sweet sixteen of the NCAA tournament after being crowned the MIAC women’s basketball conference champs for the first time ever in Bethel history. Kim was also an MIAC all-conference high jumper and ran hurdles and mid-distance for the Royals.  Upon graduation she was a member of the school record holding distance medley relay team.  Kim was inducted into the Bethel Athletic Hall of Fame. 

Kim graduated from Fridley HIgh School, where she was a 3-sport athlete. Kim earned several all-conference and all-state awards as a basketball player and was named a Ms. Minnesota Basketball finalist her senior year. As a track and field athlete, Kim was a conference champion high jumper.   Kim was recognized as the Athena award winner for Fridley High School and was a state finalist for the TRIPLE AAA award honoring excellence in athletics, academics and arts. In 2021, Hoehne was inducted into the Fridley Athletic Hall of Fame.

Kim and her husband Darren  live in Waconia with their four children, Kjersten, Micah, Eli and Ally and their Aussiedoodle, Acadia.Â
