WACONIA, Minn. — The Crown College Polars hosted the Polar Invite at Island View Golf Course on Tuesday, with both the men's and women's golf teams taking the course against conference and regional competition. Shelby Cash turned in a standout performance to pace the women's squad to a second-place team finish, while the men's team competed in a deep field of 29 golfers.

Cash was the story of the day for the Crown women, carding an 85 (+13) to claim second place individually in a field of 15 golfers. Her performance anchored Crown's team score of 401 and helped the Polars to a runner-up finish among three complete teams. Autumn Hill rounded out the top half of the field with a 96 (+24), finishing fourth overall. Ceci Escalante (102) and Nicole Baker (118) also contributed to the team effort as Crown secured second place.

On the men's side, Steven Dimmel and Grant Bestland each fired a 77 (+5) to share fourth place individually in a 29-golfer field, giving the Polars two of their strongest individual showings of the day. Grant Oakland contributed an 84 (+12), and Dimitri Mesnickow added an 86 (+14) as Crown posted a team score of 324 across four competing teams. Carter Miller (88) also competed for the Polars. Additional Crown competitors on the day included Brayden Oakland (87), Tristan Youngblood (88), Angel Cottington (91), and Aidan Olson (92).

Both the men's and women's teams are back in action Friday, September 25, when they travel to Tipsinah Mounds Golf Course in Elbow Lake, Minn. for a dual match against the University of Minnesota Morris.
