NORTHFIELD, Minn. — The Crown College Polars cross country programs took to the hills of Northfield on Saturday, Sept. 19, competing against 23 teams at the St. Olaf Invitational.
Brooklyn Hart led the way for Crown College in the women's 6k, crossing the line in 23:56.0 to finish 34th overall in a deep 23-team field. Hart's effort set the tone for a Polars squad that placed five runners inside the top 135. Ella Dufault followed closely in 24:00.5, finishing 36th just 4.5 seconds behind Hart. Junior Lindsey Morrison rounded out Crown's top three with a 24:57.0 effort, placing 67th overall.
Ruth Brueckner (115th, 25:50.5) and
Callie Dufault (131st, 26:13.3) completed the top five, with
Olivia Stanley (177th, 27:49.9),
Gracelyn Foster (184th, 28:05.4), and
Abbie Hough (214th, 29:51.9) rounding out the full list of Polars competing.
For the men's 8k, sophomore
David Tuttle paced the Crown men with a 28:20.3 finish, placing 128th in the competitive field. Freshman
Cody Rummel ran a strong 28:43.7 to slot in as the Polars second finisher.
Isaiah Norton (237th, 32:56.1) and
Justice Bailey (242nd, 33:39.4) finished 3 and 4 for the Polars while sophomore
Evan Gibson rounded out the men's squad in 37:01.3.
The Polars return to action at the SJU/CSB Autumn Classic on October 17th in Cold Spring, Minn., at River Oaks Golf Club.
