Roseville, Minn. - The Polars baseball team finished their series against the University of Northwestern on Tuesday, losing 17-7 in seven innings.
The Polars fell behind early and were not able to close the gap. They did get on the board in the third inning on an RBI double from TJ Reilly, who later scored on a passed ball in the inning.
In the fourth, Bryan Gerbers recorded his second hit of the game with a two-RBI double that scored Aidan Garza and Caden Esquerra. Logan O'Connor doubled in Tyler Olson in the fifth, and Zach Adams scored on a ground ball in the sixth. Crown added its seventh run on an RBI groundout by Michael Escalante that scored Tyler Shamrock.
Gerbers went 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, two RBIs, and one run scored. Reilly, Olson, O'Connor, and Tyler Hakes all doubled in the game, while Esquerra and Braden Anderson each collected a base hit.
The Polars travel to North Central on Friday for game one of their series. They will follow that with a doubleheader on Saturday before returning home for their final two conference series.
