Box Score St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Polars hosted Martin Luther on Wednesday evening, picking up their first UMAC win of the season with a thrilling 71-69 victory.
This one was tight from start to finish, as the Polars jumped out to an 18-15 lead after the first quarter. After trailing by three early in the second, Martin Luther trimmed the deficit to just one at halftime, 32-31. Crown answered in the third quarter, regaining control, and came up with key defensive stops late in the fourth to secure the two-point win.
Brayli Reimer exploded for 33 points, adding seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Avery Youngblood knocked down four three-pointers on her way to 13 points. Morgan Bednarek recorded another double-double with 10 points and a season-high 17 rebounds, while also contributing two assists, two blocks, and two steals to impact the game in every facet.
As a team, Crown shot 45% from the floor and 42% from beyond the arc, outshooting the Knights in an efficient offensive performance.
The Polars wrap up the regular season with two more home games, beginning Wednesday the 18th against Wisconsin-Superior. Crown will then host Northwestern on Saturday the 21st for Senior Night and the final regular-season contest of the year.
