Morris, MN — Crown women's soccer earned a point in conference play on Tuesday afternoon, playing to a 1-1 draw against the University of Minnesota Morris.
It was a familiar face on the scoring sheet for the Polars, as Layla Kerr gave Crown the lead in the 34th minute. Brayli Reimer set up the scoring play with the assist, helping the Polars carry a 1-0 advantage into halftime.
Crown looked poised to build on that momentum heading into the second half, but Morris answered quickly. The Cougars found the equalizer just 20 seconds after halftime, evening the match at 1-1.
Despite the early second-half response from Morris, the Polars continued to press forward throughout the afternoon. Crown generated 19 total shots in the match, creating consistent offensive pressure and giving itself opportunities to reclaim the lead.
The attacking effort helped Crown come away with a valuable point in the UMAC standings as the Polars continued their conference schedule on the road.
Crown will return to action on Saturday when it travels to Bethany Lutheran College for a 3:30 p.m. match.
