Superior, Wis. — Crown women's soccer took the field under the lights on Friday night following the men's match, battling the University of Wisconsin-Superior in another tough UMAC road contest.
Superior found the back of the net once in the first half and added another goal in the second half to earn a 2-0 win. Despite the result, the Polars continued to compete throughout the night and saw a strong effort on the defensive end.
Rachel Fuller turned in an impressive performance in goal, recording 13 saves and helping keep Crown within reach against a persistent Yellowjacket attack. Her play in net gave the Polars opportunities to stay in the match and continue pushing forward.
On the offensive side, Olivia Lyden and Layla Kerr each helped create scoring chances for Crown as the Polars looked for a breakthrough. Their efforts gave Crown opportunities in a hard-fought conference match up on the road.
The Polars will now return home for their next contest, hosting Martin Luther on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
