Superior, Wisc. – The Polars traveled to the University of Wisconsin–Superior on Wednesday night, taking home a 72–65 win behind a triple-double from Tyler Smith.
Crown jumped out to an early eight-point lead with contributions from multiple players on the offensive end and later pushed the advantage to as many as 10 points in the half. Superior responded late and took a two-point lead into halftime.
To start the second half, both teams traded baskets, but Superior built a 10-point lead with under eight minutes remaining. That lead quickly vanished as the Polars hit four straight three-pointers on four consecutive possessions to retake the lead by two. The offense stayed hot down the stretch to close out a 72–65 road win.
Tyler Smith's season accolades continue to grow as he stuffed the stat sheet once again, recording a triple-double with 12 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds, while adding three blocks. He accomplished this on 5-of-6 shooting, going 2-of-2 from beyond the arc while playing all 40 minutes. Parker Behne also stayed hot from three-point range, shooting 4-of-7 from deep and finishing with 20 points and three steals. Anthony Knight added 14 points and five rebounds.
The Polars return home on Saturday to host Bethany Lutheran at 2:45 p.m. The two teams enter the contest tied, along with Minnesota Morris, for first place in the conference.
