Sager Has Record Setting 21 Rebound Performance, Polars Move on to NCCAA DII North Region Final

Ankeny, IA - The Polars women's basketball team faced off with Providence on Tuesday afternoon and came out on top by a score of 69-59.

Crown jumped out to a 5-2 lead and after a few buckets from Brayli Reimer and Sydney Cotten, held the 13-7 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. Brekyn Hanson helped extend the Crown lead to ten points early in the second quarter, but Providence was able to chip away with the Polars holding the 32-24 halftime lead. 

A three point basket from Jacee Glasgow with 2:08 to play in the third quarter extended the Crown lead. The Polars outscored the Pilots in the 4th quarter and went on to secure the 69-59 victory.

Isabelle Sager dominated the glass and reeled in an impressive 21 rebounds breaking her own previous school record of 17 rebounds in a game set back in 2023. Reimer tabbed a double double with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Sydney Cotten led all scorers with 24 points in the game on eight made baskets.

With this win the Polars move on to the NCCAA DII North Region Final with tipoff set for 1:30pm tomorrow March 5th with their opponent yet to be determined.
