St. Bonifacius, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) announced the award recipients for this year's football season. The Polars had a multitude of award winners including three players of the year nominees, five First-team All-Conference players, and eight Second-team All-Conference players.
The Polars had multiple players of the year nominations as Quarterback
Jamarrius Courtney leads the headline winning the Offensive Player of the Year award after breaking the single season rushing record in the conference.
Anthony Franz won his first Coach of the Year award in the UMAC in just his fifth season after finishing with a 7-3 record and a 6-1 UMAC record.
Jakalyn Roy was named Defensive Lineman of the Year, and
Donovan Quinzy was the Offensive Lineman of the Year.
Three Polars were voted offensive First-team All-Conference.
Jamarrius Courtney paired his electric athletic ability with a dominant offensive line as he was joined by two offensive lineman on the first team.
Donovan Quinzy, who was voted Offensive Lineman of the Year, was joined by
Jonathan Martin as the second lineman for the Polars on the first team. Two more Polars joined First-team All-Conference on the defensive side of the ball.
Jakalyn Roy, who was recognized as the Defensive Lineman of the year, displayed his quick release off the line, athletic ability, and strength to break the Polars single season tackles for loss record. Hard hitting safety
Rudy Criner, a graduate student, won his second First-team All-Conference award in his career as he holds the career tackles record for the Polars.
Two more players on offense made Second-team All-Conference.
Phillip Torres was the third Polars lineman nominated as the Polars had the best rushing attack in the conference. Part of that rushing game was the next Polar award winner
Devin Williams, who was efficient on the ground and crucial as a blocker. The Polars dominated the defensive Second team with five players selected. Senior Millicent Greer earns his second All-Conference selection for his career. The lockdown corner combo of
Eddie Hallowanger and
Jaylen Gray both made the Second team as the Polars had three defensive backs selected to All-Conference Teams.
Keivon Davis, another linebacker, joins the team alongside
Luke Johnson, the senior captain and play caller on defense.
Reichen Hoekstra, the Polars punter, was the final Polar selected to All-Conference teams as 13 players were recognized.
Each team in the conference also names one player to the All-Sportsmanship team for their leadership and character within the sport. Senior
Nico Herrera was the Polars nomination for exhibiting these traits.
Crown was well recognized in this seasons All-Conference Awards release after having the best season in program history, winning the conference for the first time. The Polars season has not come to a close yet as the team plays Wheaton College (Ill.) on Saturday, November 22 in Wheaton in the first round of the NCAA DIII Championships. Kickoff is at noon, and will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
