St. Bonifacius, MN - Hard fought battle ends in tie as the men's soccer continue Homecoming festivities.
The wind played a major role in Saturday's Homecoming matchup at Old National Bank Stadium, where Crown College men's soccer fought to a hard-earned 1-1 draw. With strong southern gusts giving the visiting Northwestern Eagles an early edge, the visitors capitalized just five minutes into the game, taking a 1-0 lead. Crown battled against the wind for the remainder of the first half, holding off further damage. After the break, the elements shifted in Crown's favor. With the wind now at their backs, the Polars pressed forward and found the equalizer through Alan Montano, who buried a key opportunity to level the score. Despite late chances from both sides, the match ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
Crown will look to carry the momentum into Tuesday's home match up against the University of Minnesota Morris. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
