St. Paul, MN - Eagles strike early and soar past Polars.
Under the Wednesday night lights, the Crown men's soccer team took the field to close out a doubleheader against a familiar conference opponent. The match up appeared evenly balanced, especially after the two teams battled to a draw in their previous meeting. Just as in the earlier Homecoming match up, the Eagles struck first, finding the back of the net in the 4th minute. The Polars pushed forward in response, familiar with playing from behind after similar situations earlier in the season. However, Northwestern capitalized on their chances, adding two more goals before halftime to take a commanding 3–0 lead. Despite Crown's effort to rally, the score held until the final whistle, giving Northwestern the victory.
Crown men's soccer will return home on Saturday for Senior Day, hosting North Central University to close out the regular season.
