New Ulm, MN - Polars power past Knights with 4-1 road win.
Following the women's 1-1 draw earlier in the day, the Crown men's soccer team aimed to close out the trip south with a statement of their own. The wind refused to ease up and the temperature continued to drop as the late afternoon kickoff got underway in New Ulm. Crown wasted no time finding the scoreboard. In the 16th minute, Marcus Banegas opened the scoring to give the Polars an early lead. Martin Luther responded quickly, equalizing just four minutes later in the 20th. But Crown regained momentum before the break, as Omar Navarro found the back of the net in the 30th minute, sending the Polars into halftime up 2-1. The second half was all Crown. Ashton Hosler extended the lead with a well-placed strike, and Jose Lovera sealed the deal with a fourth goal to secure a commanding 4-1 victory.
Men's soccer will play against Trinity Bible during their bye weekend this Thursday at home.
