St Bonifacius, Minn. - Crown men's soccer took on Martin Luther College this Saturday evening. The Polars jumped out in front early and carried that momentum all the way until the end of the game, earning a win against the Knights 8-0. With this win the Polars moved to 4-0 in conference play.
The Polars started the game hot, scoring five goals in the first half. The scoring started off early with
Jose Lovera booting one into the back of the net with an assist from
Pedro Silveira in the first minute of play. Twenty minutes later
Timmy Jackson scored off a nice pass from
Ashton Hosler, moving the score to 2-0. Then
Juan Fernando Arriaga added his first goal of the match off another assist from Silveira. In the 30th minute
Colin Vilme scored his second goal of the season, moving the score to 4-0. Hosler then scored a goal of his own with a nice header off a pass from Lovera, sending the score to 5-0 going into the half.
Scoring in the second half started a little later for the Polars with the first goal of the second half coming in the 69th minute with Arriaga's second goal of the game. Isaac Shulz added another score for the polars off an assist from
Jude McVety in the 76th minute. Then
Omar Navarro added another goal to the Polars total with eight minutes left in the match, ending the scoring for the Polars and upping the score to 8-0.
Leo Roque finished the night with two saves and a clean sheet.
Polars men's soccer continues conference play this next Wednesday, October 2nd at home against Bethany Lutheran College at 7pm.
