St. Bonifacius, Minn. - Polars men's soccer faced off against the University of Minnesota-Morris Wednesday evening, earning their sixth conference win of the season. With this 3-0 win over the Cougars, Crown's conference record moves to 6-3 on the year.
Crown's first goal came in the 12th minute with
Ashton Hosler sneaking one right past the goalie off the assist from
Joaquin Silva.
Timmy Jackson scored the Polars second goal of the half in the 17th minute making the score 2-0. The Polars maintained the lead going into the half leading the Cougars 2-0. Crown doubled the amount of total shots of the Cougars as they totaled 10 shots as opposed to 5 from Morris.
The second half was a little more defensive with only one goal being scored. That goal came off a long arcing shot over the goalie from
Colin Vilme in the 67th minute of play, moving the score to 3-0. Defensively
Leo Roque totaled five saves and a clean sheet for the Polars.
With this win the Polars move to 6-7 on the season and 6-3 in UMAC play. The Polars next matchup is on the road against Martin Luther College this Saturday, October 19th at 1:00 PM.
