St. Paul, Minn. - The Polars men's soccer team took on Northwestern on Saturday and fell by a score of 2-0.
After an even first 40 minutes where neither team was able to get on the scoreboard, the Eagles scored first in the 40th minute to take the 1-0 lead. The Polars were outshot 6-3 in the first half. The second half was a battle that saw 6 cards given between the two teams.
The Polars totaled three yellow cards in the physical second half. With the Polars trailing the Eagles earned a red card in the 72nd minute giving Crown an advantage. Depsite this Northwestern scored in the 74th minute to take the 2-0 lead and eventually the victory.

The Polars fall to 5-7 on the season and 5-3 in UMAC play and will next return home to face off with Minnesota-Morris on Wednesday, October 16th at 4:30pm.
