Kamm and Silva's Goals Propel Polars to Victory Over Eagles

Roseville, MN - The Polars men's soccer team faced off with the Northwestern Eagles on Saturday in their second UMAC contest of the year and came out on top 2-1.

Crown shot out in front in the first three minutes after a few shots. Luke Kamm scored his first goal of the season. Over twenty minutes later the Eagles answered back and evened up the score at 1-1 on a penalty kick goal. The second half saw an even match up before the Polars scored the difference maker in the 80th minute off the foot of Joaquin Silva for his first goal of the season as well, with the assist going to Ashton Hosler.

Crown finished with a slight edge in shots with 13 shots and 10 shots on goal compared to 11 and 7 from the Eagles. Crown also had the slight edge in corner kicks with 6 to 2 of the Eagles. Luke Kamm totaled 4 shots and 2 on goal with his goal being the first of the year. Joaquin Silva also scored his first goal of the year on one shot.

The Polars move to 2-4 on the season and 1-1 in UMAC play and will return home to Old National Bank Stadium to take on the UM-Morris Cougars on Tuesday, September 19th at 4:30pm.
