Women's Soccer Drops Season Opener to Falcons

River Falls, WI – The Crown women's soccer team took on the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in their first contest of the season and fell to their WIAC opponent by a score of 8-1.

The Falcons started off the scoring with three goals from three different players. Ellie Schanbacher scored her first goal of the year and the Polars lone goal of the game. Schanbacher's touch from the middle of the box found the top shelf just past the outstretched Kaylie Krueger of the Falcons.

Crown battled in the second half, but the Falcons bested the Polars scoring 5 goals in the second half. Crown was held to just seven total shots in the match and were outshot 33-7 on the day.

Rachel Fuller played the full 90 minutes in the net totaling 12 saves on the day.

The Polars will get right back to the action on Saturday as they head to Minneapolis, Minnesota to take on the Augsburg Auggies at 7pm.
