Polars Drop Contest With Eagles 11-4

Morris, MN - The Crown College Polars Softball team faced off with the Northwestern Eagles on Friday and fell by a score of 11-4.

Northwestern notched an early lead scoring 5 runs in the first two innings. The Polars bats heated up in the top of the third inning. Morgan Ayslworth led off the inning with a single. A single from Ashley Earick pur runners on the corners with no outs. A double from Maria Lilienthal scored two and Crown was able to bring Lilienthal around the bases as the Polars cut the lead to 5-3. Four runs from the Eagles spelled trouble for Crown and Crown fell 11-4.

Maria Lilienthal led the Polars offense going 2-4 on the day with 3 RBI's. Morgan Aylsworth also had a two hit game as she went 2-2 with a walk as well. Abbie Carroll pitched 2.2 innings and took the loss. Lindsay Glover pitched three and a third innings and only gave up two earned runs. 

Crown falls to 9-24 on the season and 6-9 in UMAC play. They will stay in Morris, Minnesota for the rest of the 2nd UMAC Crossover weekend as they face off with the North Central Rams at 12pm tomorrow and the UM-Morris Cougars at 4pm. Both games critical to keep UMAC playoff hopes alive.
