Owatonna, MN - The Crown College Tennis teams faced off with the Martin Luther College Knights on Thursday with both the men and women falling 8-1. Women's Tennis won an individual match in the #2 singles spot for the first time since 2018.
In doubles action
David Comings and
Tim Jaeger fell in a tight loss in the number one doubles match 8-2. Comings turned around and took the win in the number one singles match winning the first set 7-5, fallling in the second set 6-4, then Comings was able to win in the tiebreaker set 10-5. Jaeger was able to play the number 2 singles match close throughout falling by scores of 6-4 and 7-5.
Jackson McFaden,
Brock Knick,
Gabe Rojas Gomez, and
Cole Matthys all competed for the Crown men. The final score would sit at 8-1 in favor of the Knights.
Annie Doyle competed as the number one for the Crown women but was unable to win either the singles or double match falling by scores of 6-3 and 6-2 in singles action while falling by a score of 8-4 in doubles action paired with
Jaidence Medina. Medina was able to take the first individual singles match win for the women in the #2 spot since 2018. Medina won the 1st set 6-1, fell in the 2nd set 6-4, then proceeded to win the 3rd set 11-9 in a tight competitive match.

Cassie Young all competed for the women. The Crown women as a team fell by the score of 8-1.
Polars Tennis returns to action on April 21st back in Owatonna to take on Bethany Lutheran and UW-Superior at 10am and 12:30pm.
