St. Bonifacius, MN - The Crown College Polars Baseball Team faced off with the Martin Luther Knights on Tuesday coming out victorious by a score of 14-6 and fell to the Minnesota Morris Cougars 9-7.
Crown started out the scoring early in game one with two singles in the 1st scoring 
Seth Betts and a Solo Home Run by 
Ashton Long in the 2nd inning to put the Polars out in front 2-0. Four hits and a walk in the fourth inning led to a 4 run inning after a 2 RBI single from 
Howie Hatton and a 2 RBI double from 
Mason Brock. Crown only held the 6-0 lead until the top half of the 5th when Martin Luther tied teh game up at 6 apiece. A huge bottom of the 5th inning propelled Crown to a 13-6 lead and Crown coasted from there scoring one more before the end of the game with the score finishing at 14-6.
Both 
Seth Betts and 
Howie Hatton totaled 4 hits in the contest each going 4-5 and Hatton totaled 4 Runs Batted In. 
Tyler Bloom started on the mound for the Polars and pitched 4.2 innings.

Charlie Joyce, and 
Liam Jones came out of the bullpen to end the game.
The second game of the day featured a leadoff home run from 
Cael Magill to start the game. A 
Seth Betts single and an error gave Crown the second run of the game and the 2-0 lead. Morris was able to tie the game right back up at 2-2 in the top of the third inning. The Cougars scored three runs to match Crown's three over the course of the 3rd through 6th innings. At the end of the 7th inning both teams were knotted up at 6 each. A three run eighth inning from Morris put Crown down by three and a late rally was unsuccessful as the Polars dropped their second contest with the Cougars 9-7.
Rhys Dewick led the offense against Morris as he went 4-5 with a Home Run. 
Aidan Volk-Specht took the hill to begin the game but exited early after a few walks. 
Jacob Van Dam, 
Jacob Worley, and 
Mason Brock all pitched in the contest. Crown as a team outhit the Cougars but were unable to capitalize late with runners in scoring position.
Crown falls to 12-11 on the season and 6-3 in UMAC and will take on Martin Luther College tomorrow April 19th in a doubleheader barring possible inclement weather.
