Minneapolis, MN- The Crown College Polars softball team faced off with UW-River Falls falling by scores of 10-1 and 1-0.
The first game saw Crown score the first run of the game after a double from
Itzel Valles and a single from
Maria Lilienthal to knock in Valles. The next few innings saw UW-River Falls score a run in each and a big 5th inning from the Falcons grew the lead to 7-1. Crown would only add one more hit on the day dropping the game 10-1 in five innings.
Emmy Romportl and
Lindsay Glover pitched for the Polars with Glover allowing 0 earned runs in 1.2 innings.
The second game was close down to the wire with the first run of the game coming in the bottom of the 6th inning. The run scored by River Falls would come off a Crown error. The Polars struggled offensively unable to notch a hit in the second game.
Abbie Carroll pitched a lights out 6 innings only allowing one earned run on 7 total hits.
The Polars next contest is at the Gene Cusic Classic in Florida with their first game on March 11th at 8am.
